Photo Region

Photo Region CD's combine Maptech ChartKit raster charts with aerial and high-altitude photographs.  The photographs are geo-referenced for latitude and longitude so that position can be plotted on both chart and photo simultaneously.

The following marine navigation software packages support Maptech Photo Regions:

• Maptech Cruising Navigator
• Maptech Offshore Navigator
• Nobeltec Visual GPS Planner (version 5.0 or greater)
• Nobeltec Visual Mariner (version 5.0 or greater)
• Nobeltec Visual Navigation Suite (version 5.0 or greater)
• ChartView Planner (version 2.6 or greater)
• ChartView Tracker (version 2.6 or greater)
• ChartView Professional (version 2.6 or greater)

Other marine navigation packages may support Photo Regions; check your user's manual for compatibility or e-mail us for additional information.

All chart raster scans are at a resolution of 254 dpi and are made from NOAA's mylar-film lithography masters.  Colors are consistent with NOAA paper charts; most photos are also in color.  Harbor, ocean, and planning charts and photos are bundled on CD-ROM's in regional groups covering U. S. coastal waters and the Great Lakes.
