Specialty Charts
NOAA provides several types of specialty
charts for professional and recreational
mariners:
- Small
Craft Chart Folios and Books--Specially
designed for small, non-commercial users,
these charts are arranged in spiral-bound
booklets or fold-out folio collections.
- Oil and Gas
Leasing Areas--"Block
Charts" document the location of oil
and gas drilling locations in the Gulf of
Mexico--essential for safe passage.
- Training
Charts--special versions of selected
NOAA charts that are standardized for use in
Coast Guard Examinations. Get yours to
practice navigation problems before the
test! Chart 1210TR is a favorite of
Coast Guard Auxiliaries, Power Squadrons,
and Sailing Schools for plotting practice as
it also includes an abridged version of
Chart No. 1 on the chart back.
- Marine Weather
Service Charts--a series of 16
charts covering the waters of the U. S.,
Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Northern Marianas
to list NWS radio stations, telephone
numbers, and web addresses.
- Chart
No. 1--It's not really a chart but a
publication that lists and defines all of
the symbols use on U. S.-manufactured
charts.
